Now we know why Republicans are suddenly throwing everything and the kitchen sink into Kansas. Especially the poor guy that had to talk Trump into staying on message enough to record a robocall.
An internal poll circulating among Republicans showed Estes up by only a single point as of last week.
Remember; this is a *Republican internal* poll; if it says Estes is up one, that means he was probably down three. Regardless, this is a district that’s voted Republican consistently by landslide margins in the last few elections. Based on voting patterns in the last three presidential elections, this is the 76th most conservative district in the House. Even in 2014, it voted Brownback by 6%, when the state supported him by 3%. If Kansas is in play, almost everywhere is in play.
Even if we lose this race, make no mistake, the fact that this is as close as it is will be a shot across the bow to every single Republican in Congress, and wake the nation up to the fact that the movement for sanity and democracy is not dead; in fact it’s stronger than it’s been in a long time.
You can make calls for James Thompson here. The election is tomorrow.
